NUTRITION

SNACKS AND MEALS
Kids' Kingdom Family Childcare places proper nutrition high on the list of priorities for your child's health and growth. Children over the age of 1 will be provided with the following nutritional meals; Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Snack, and/or Dinner & Evening Snack (if they are here for after hour care).

Each child will be encouraged to try new foods and will enjoy the variety provided to them in each week’s menu. They will be given the opportunity to participate in food preparation during the different meal times and nutritional activities. Every meal is made to meet or exceed the Federal guidelines for the Massachusetts Child Care Food Programs. The meal schedule followed is listed below. If the child(ren) is here during those times, they will be served. Children who choose not to eat will not be served again until the next scheduled meal or snack. If your child will be arriving after mealtime, please feed them before they arrive.

Breakfast 8:00am
Morning snack 10:00am
Lunch 12:00pm
Afternoon snack 3:15pm
Dinner 6:30
PM Snack 7:45

We do not serve soda, candy, or junk foods, however we may bake treats occasionally. Children are never force fed, but rather, are always encouraged to try at least one or two bites. Water is always offered and given throughout the day. Meals are served family style, which means that the children are included in parts of the preparation, table setting, serving themselves and clearing. Weekly Menus will always be provided and posted on the "Parent Message Board".

INFANT FEEDINGS
All infant’s (6 weeks-1 year) formula/breast milk, juice, baby food and baby cereal will need to be provided by parents/guardian and clearly marked with his or her name. Infants will always be fed according to their own schedule (on demand). They will always be held during their meal times and bottles will never be "propped." If your child is taking breast milk, please make sure your child has made the transition to a bottle prior to their first day at Kids‘ Kingdom.

When a child reaches 12 months of age or when it becomes developmentally appropriate, a sippy cup will be introduced and bottles should be left at home after the child has successfully learned to use the cup.

SPECIAL DIET
Please make us aware of any food your child is allergic to. If your child has a specific medical condition such as an allergy or a temporary condition such as a stomach virus, food may be brought from home. Please provide a doctor’s statement to verify need and clearly label containers with your child’s name and include instructions.
